Develop a built-in tool to extract survey results
plannedMany, if not most, of our online surveys are completed by users who are not yet linked RE consituents. I would love to have a non-custom solution to export survey results from the awesome Survey part in NetCommunity - in a way that we could easily present and/or report on.
This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

prevent signup if email address already in NetCommunity
multiple users can signup with the same email address. this results in signup requests from user's that already have BBNC accounts. I'm proposing an option in the editor that allows only one signup per email address. the user would be prompted to have their user info sent to their email if they try to signup with an email address that's already in bbnc.

let email bounces for constituent lists be reflected in RE
For constituent lists, any email that bounces should be referred back to the RE constituent record as a solicit code and/or the do not email check box

create an image gallery rather than a slideshow
startedwe want to be able to upload images into a gallery, so that users can see the photos and click on them rather than waiting for a slideshow. this is going to be particularlyl helpful after an event where people want to see all the images and select the ones they want to view.
This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

Ability to change the order of events in a registration form
Currently, once you add events to the registration form they're locked in the order that you add them. We have sometimes dozens of events at a time in our form, and when an event gets added to the schedule on a date in the middle of the list, we have to remove every event that occurs after it to add in the new one. Could we either sort the events in the form by date, or manually move events up and down in the order they appear on the form?

Previewing BBNC Messages
When we create a new message to go to a large list, we would like to be able to preview that message from within the message editing screen, and test any imbedded links.

One-Step Event Registration
I would like to see BBNC allow the instant registration of a constitutent for an event, even if they've never been on the (BBNC) website before. The event registration should be able to ask all the information you need - AND - allow them to register for an event. No more "Join BBNC" then get approved, then fill out a profile, then sign up for an event. It should be similar to buying airline tickets or ticketmaster; if you're a new constituent, you are prompted for all your profile info first, but then can still register for an event.

Insert Addressee/Salutation fields into BBNC Email
I would like to insert addressee/salutation fields from RE into my email. We have some that are their "donor recognition names" and we could email that to them and ask if this is still current. If we send 1 email to the entire family it would be better to use the primary addressee info instead of constituent 1 first/last name

complimentary event registration
It's important to have the ability to allow different price points for event registration, including complimentary registration for event. But currently you either display ALL Registration Units prices (which doesn't makes sense) or you'd have to create a seperate event registration page for different prices - and even if you allow just the 'free' ($0) price, BBNC still prompts the registrant for a page for $0... which should just be bypassed.

Include a 'comments' part in NetCommunity
much of the content on our website is in the form of news articles. we'd like the ability to put a 'comments' part on any page (or template) no matter the content and allow users to post comments to the page. probably include some management capabilities and report abuse feature.

Be able to subscribe users to a newsletter automatically
The Newsletter function is great because it's a self-sufficient list that automatically updates when people unsubscribe. The problem is that we cannot migrate our current newsletters over because this is strictly an "opt-in" function and we would lose our distribution base. By giving the option to make a newsletter "opt-out" we would be able to get away from ListServs completely.

Ability to create web forms or have a web forms part
Currently you can't create web forms on a page for things like Contact Us or to push information to another forms engine.
It allows us the option to gather information without having the user login or to create a login. It's a stepping stone phase where we can gather information without making it too hard for the user. -

"Forward to a Friend" link in email
This is basic viral marketing that other tools like Echomail and Constant Contact support. There is a link at the bottom of the email that says "Forward to a Friend." clicking the link takes you to a webpage on the organization's website and you enter one or more emails you'd like to forward the message to

allow site admin to mark "private" on another's record
As site admin, if an alumnus calls me over the telephone, I want to be able to access his/her record on BBNC and mark any info on her record private per request, WITHOUT asking her to register for BBNC. If she wants telephone hidden, but not email, I should be able to do this for our donor easily.

Enable discount codes for event reg. and membership purchase
Constituents often respond to special discount offers when they join or register for events. This is customary on most eCommerce systems but is missing in Net:Community.

Separate listings of states from provinces
RE keeps states and provinces together in one table. The problem we ran into, as an example, is that Italy has 109 provinces. If we were to add that to the 50+ US states and territories, Canadian, Australian, etc. states and provinces, the list becomes ridiculously long. Also, since the state/province drop-down list in BBNC is abbreviations only, the list is really a problem.

double opt-in
plannedThe ability to have the following: when someone creates an account with interests segments (which we use for mailing list segmentation, they receive an email with a link that they must click to confirm their registration in order for it to be validated. This prevents people from using other people's email addresses to spam them through your organization.
This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

Include gift attributes in membership part
The donation parts allow custom RE gift attributes, but the membership part doesn't. For instance, we require an appeal code to be input for certain memberships. We are using the donation form to handle this currently.

Document the API better
startedI find that the API for custom parts and services is lacking significant documentation. I have explored the custom part samples and have developed a significant number of custom parts, but the documentation is severely lacking.
Blackbaud continues to deepen and expand the BBNC Open API Platform. Documentation, examples, and other helpful content are frequently published at http://labs.blackbaud.com

Send reports on opt-outs from email server
When you use an import list to send email, to say contacts on the spouse tab of a record or contacts on an organization record, you will not be able to know if those people opted out. The opt-outs are recorded on the email server in Atlanta. When we send follow-up email the emails won't reach the people as you will fiter them, BUT we will never know these contacts are opted out. It would be nice to get a report on the opt-outs so that we can a. not include them in our emails b. pull them out and create a separate record for them so we can opt-them out in our RE database.

Ability to update attribute date and comment
Currently, you can only update the description field for an attribute, but sometimes it is really useful to be able to update the date and the comment fields. We store some information that requires all 3 values but can't use it and so now have to separate it into 3 attributes.

Sort the designation pick list on the donation form part
plannedWe are a charity that requires our staff to raise funds for their salary. Right now it is not possible to sort the designation list. If there is a new designation, it has to be added at the bottom of the list. The consequence is that if we create a donation form with 100 staff in alphabetical order and a new staff named "Adam" joins us we need to delete all 100 names and recreate the entire form over again. We can't launch netCommunity with this limitation.
This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

Be consistent in menu usage
Consistency in how you use menus would be great. EG in searching for a page you have to click on the 'search' button. In parts, you can just press 'enter'.
Viewing History opens a drop down menu, inadvertent clicking will close the drop down. The opposite to Windows which is a de facto standard. -

Add a "signature" field in tribute section of donate form
When making a tribute gift, there is no field to indicate how you want the "From" on a tribute gift. For example if I am logged into the site as Tara Mermis and make a gift, there is no field to indicate that I want the tribute to come from "The Mermis Family".

Allow manual input of BBNC users to e-mails
If we are sending an e-mail, it would be convenient to be able to manually add e-mail addresses or choose other users to send to. Right now we are limited to RE queries or whatever is in the CSV files. The ability to tack on additional e-mail addresses would be great!

enable occ/bbnc to use LDAP for usernames + passwords
In a school environment, it would be helpful for staff/students to be able to use their network usernames + passwords to log into ALL blackbaud web products including FaWeb/NetClassroom. These passwords are more robust and can be forced to change on a regular basis.

The user should have more control over the items that appear on personal page parts/elements. For example I want to disable certain buttons (ie offline donations).
