prevent signup if email address already in NetCommunity planned

multiple users can signup with the same email address. this results in signup requests from user's that already have BBNC accounts. I'm proposing an option in the editor that allows only one signup per email address. the user would be prompted to have their user info sent to their email if they try to signup with an email address that's already in bbnc.

This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

let email bounces for constituent lists be reflected in RE under review

For constituent lists, any email that bounces should be referred back to the RE constituent record as a solicit code and/or the do not email check box

Blackbaud is currently reviewing this feature suggestion. We will update this website with any additional information as it becomes available.

Insert Addressee/Salutation fields into BBNC Email planned

I would like to insert addressee/salutation fields from RE into my email. We have some that are their "donor recognition names" and we could email that to them and ask if this is still current. If we send 1 email to the entire family it would be better to use the primary addressee info instead of constituent 1 first/last name

This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

create an image gallery rather than a slideshow started

we want to be able to upload images into a gallery, so that users can see the photos and click on them rather than waiting for a slideshow. this is going to be particularlyl helpful after an event where people want to see all the images and select the ones they want to view.

This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

Ability to change the order of events in a registration form

Currently, once you add events to the registration form they're locked in the order that you add them. We have sometimes dozens of events at a time in our form, and when an event gets added to the schedule on a date in the middle of the list, we have to remove every event that occurs after it to add in the new one. Could we either sort the events in the form by date, or manually move events up and down in the order they appear on the form?

Include a 'comments' part in NetCommunity

much of the content on our website is in the form of news articles. we'd like the ability to put a 'comments' part on any page (or template) no matter the content and allow users to post comments to the page. probably include some management capabilities and report abuse feature.

    Previewing BBNC Messages

When we create a new message to go to a large list, we would like to be able to preview that message from within the message editing screen, and test any imbedded links.

    One-Step Event Registration under review

I would like to see BBNC allow the instant registration of a constitutent for an event, even if they've never been on the (BBNC) website before. The event registration should be able to ask all the information you need - AND - allow them to register for an event. No more "Join BBNC" then get approved, then fill out a profile, then sign up for an event. It should be similar to buying airline tickets or ticketmaster; if you're a new constituent, you are prompted for all your profile info first, but then can still register for an event.

Blackbaud NetCommunity currently allows both anonymous and registered users to use the event registration functionality. In addition, BBNC allows for single and multiple event registrations. Additional registration fields are planned for a future release of BBNC.

Enable discount codes for event reg. and membership purchase

Constituents often respond to special discount offers when they join or register for events. This is customary on most eCommerce systems but is missing in Net:Community.

    complimentary event registration

It's important to have the ability to allow different price points for event registration, including complimentary registration for event. But currently you either display ALL Registration Units prices (which doesn't makes sense) or you'd have to create a seperate event registration page for different prices - and even if you allow just the 'free' ($0) price, BBNC still prompts the registrant for a page for $0... which should just be bypassed.

Allow organizations to receive Netcommunity emails

We have emails for several organizations but no contact person. Instead of creating duplicate individual records for each organization, we would like to simply send information to the organization's email address directly.

"Forward to a Friend" link in email

This is basic viral marketing that other tools like Echomail and Constant Contact support. There is a link at the bottom of the email that says "Forward to a Friend." clicking the link takes you to a webpage on the organization's website and you enter one or more emails you'd like to forward the message to

Ability to create web forms or have a web forms part planned

Currently you can't create web forms on a page for things like Contact Us or to push information to another forms engine.
It allows us the option to gather information without having the user login or to create a login. It's a stepping stone phase where we can gather information without making it too hard for the user.

This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

Allow internal links to use friendly urls planned

Friendly urls are great, but it would be nice to have the option of using those friendly names when linking within the site, so that people can better use the friendly urls, and to help with SEO

allow site admin to mark "private" on another's record

As site admin, if an alumnus calls me over the telephone, I want to be able to access his/her record on BBNC and mark any info on her record private per request, WITHOUT asking her to register for BBNC. If she wants telephone hidden, but not email, I should be able to do this for our donor easily.

    Credit Card Translation table

Error codes from processor groups like IATS produce cryptic error codes like "unknown error 42" which in english means "wrong security code". From a donors percpective they don't know what the error code is - there needs to be a translation between processor and BBNC

auto email responder once constitunet is linked/created planned

It would be nice for the system to automatically send out a system message to inform someone who has registered onto the website that they now are fully activated onto the system ie once their BBNC login has been connected to an RE constituent record.

This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.

    Document the API better started

I find that the API for custom parts and services is lacking significant documentation. I have explored the custom part samples and have developed a significant number of custom parts, but the documentation is severely lacking.

Blackbaud continues to deepen and expand the BBNC Open API Platform. Documentation, examples, and other helpful content are frequently published at http://labs.blackbaud.com

    business information fields available

I'd love to see BBNC allow the (primary) business fields (org name, position, address, phone-emails) as part of constituent registration (either with new BBNC records or event registration)

Separate listings of states from provinces

RE keeps states and provinces together in one table. The problem we ran into, as an example, is that Italy has 109 provinces. If we were to add that to the 50+ US states and territories, Canadian, Australian, etc. states and provinces, the list becomes ridiculously long. Also, since the state/province drop-down list in BBNC is abbreviations only, the list is really a problem.

    double opt-in planned

The ability to have the following: when someone creates an account with interests segments (which we use for mailing list segmentation, they receive an email with a link that they must click to confirm their registration in order for it to be validated. This prevents people from using other people's email addresses to spam them through your organization.

This functionality is planned for a future release of BBNC.
